Mike Pender

Mike Pender born in Kirkdale, Liverpool, an original founding member of Merseybeat group The Searchers who is best known for his lead vocals on their Classic Hit "Needles and Pins". There were, of course, many other 'Hit' recordings including three number ones not only here in UK but in both in Europe and the United States that feature not only Mike's vocals but also his equally distinctive 12 string 'jangly guitar sound that became such a feature of The Searcher's recordings. "When You Walk In The Room", "Sweets For My Sweet", "Sugar And Spice", "Don't Throw Your Love Away", "What Have They Done To The Rain", "Goodbye My Love", "Take Me For What I'm Worth" to name but a few!

Mike left The Searchers in 1985 to pursue a solo career releasing one solo single before forming his current band, Mike Pender's Searchers who still performs songs from his many years with The Searchers in addition to all-new material and a blend of popular rock standards.

Mike is now also available as a solo artiste or recently as a special guest with The New Amen Corner
